The Lady in the Van
The Lady in the Van is a play based on the true story of Miss Mary Shepherd, a homeless woman who parked her van in the driveway of Alan Bennett’s Camden home in the 1970s. The play tells the story of Bennett’s friendship with Miss Shepherd, which began as a begrudged favour and became a relationship that changed both their lives.
